Sony's Brown To Retire:
Sony Music Nashville SVP/Media & Corporate Communications Allen Brown will retire June 30 after 43 years in the industry. Brown started his career as a 21-year-old intern for then-CBS Records/Nashville, which later became Sony Music Nashville, and has worked with the company or directly with artists signed to the label’s roster for more than 38 years. “I could spend all my remaining time after retirement thanking everyone who has helped, encouraged, mentored and been there for me these past several years,” shares Brown. “I have had the pleasure of working with 18 of the artists inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. But as I said to my label family, the superstars in the rotunda I am most proud of working alongside are my fellow team members.” Brown was named to his most recent post in 2017 (CAT 10/6/17) and can be reached here through June 30. No word on plans for a successor.
