Chronicle: Keyboardist, producer and studio owner
David Briggs passed April 22. He was 82. Briggs first played on sessions in Muscle Shoals and was recruited to Nashville by Owen Bradley. He played on Elvis Presley's 1966
How Great Thou Art and recorded with Presley for the next decade. Briggs was a partner in opening Nashville's Quadrafonic Studios in 1969. After that sold, he opened House of David Studio in 1982. Briggs was Music Director for the
CMA Awards for 15 years, was inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in 1999 and into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2019. No word on services.
