UMGN Rebrands As MCA, Adds McCartney & More

UMG/Nashville has rebranded as Music Corporation of America (MCA) under the leadership of Pres./CEO Mike Harris and CCO Dave Cobb. The company will continue to operate frontline imprints Mercury, EMI Nashville, Capitol and MCA, as well as the Cobb-founded and newly launched Lucille Records.
Joining the company as EVP/GM is former Monument GM Katie McCartney, while Tom LaScola has been named Head/Artist & Audience Strategy in an alliance with his company, The Trenches. Songwriter Jessie Jo Dillon has been named Song Buddy in a creative strategic alliance developed by Cobb.
Lucille will be spearheaded by Cobb and Island VP/A&R Austin Jenkins, who has been named SVP/A&R for MCA and Head of Lucille. Its roster includes Lamont Landers, Landon Smith, Isabel Dumas, and Sons of Habit.
"The incredible staff of these labels will operate with a sense of independence and autonomy, but with a pursuit of excellence and healthy competition as a shared agenda," says Harris. Adds Cobb, "I want to let the art lead, embrace community, and approach the business with intention. We show up, work hard, and put artists, songwriters, community, and fans first."
