Rebellions Are Built On Hope:
Lynchburg Media Partners flipped recently-purchased Hot AC WKHF/Lynchburg, VA to a legends-based Country format as "Rebel 93.7" yesterday (5/3). As part of the launch, the station is currently jockless and airing 5,000 songs in a row commercial-free. In a Facebook post, owner Charles Marsh promises "a radio station that’s rebelling against the same old Country radio. We’re playing new country with a generous dose of the legends." WKHF's 1,600 watt signal limits its coverage to the Lynchburg half of the Roanoke-Lynchburg market. Country stations placed 2nd and 9th in the market's most recent Nielsen Audio ratings, with an 8.9 share for Wheeler WSLC and a 3.2 for iHeartMedia WYYD (CAT 1/15). Stream the station here.
