Cumulus, BMLG Launch "Nash Icons":
Cumulus and the Big Machine Label Group have formed a joint venture to launch a new Country music label and live events business under the Nash Icons brand, showcasing Nashville's most prolific country artists from the last 25 years.
As part of the new venture, Cumulus will also introduce a 24/7 Nash Icons format on some of its owned-and-operated radio stations, as well as create and syndicate Nash Icons programming via WestwoodOne, including a long-form feature show. Nash Icons will also feature live events, merchandising, video and a section in Nash Magazine. Nash Icons will be based at the Nash Campus in Nashville.
"We are excited to partner with [BMLG CEO/President] Scott Borchetta and Big Machine on the creation of Nash Icons," says Cumulus CEO Lew Dickey. "This is an important line extension for our Nash brand that provides a new multi-media platform for Country music’s most prolific artists from the last two decades."
“There are so many iconic Country artists who are still passionate about recording new music and hearing their biggest hits on the radio," Borchetta says. "Nash Icons will allow so many of these artists to do both. BMLG is proud to partner with Cumulus in a way that allows us to keep entertaining the millions of fans of these all-time favorite artists.”
