coxlogo23.jpg

The Eyes Have It: Cox Media Group (CMG) is selling its Tulsa radio cluster, including KWEN, to Zoellner Media Group. The newly-formed company is headed by longtime Tulsa optometrist Dr. Robert H. Zoellner, who is said to have "built his businesses on the power of radio advertising and has long championed the value of local broadcast radio." Former Griffin/Tulsa Dir./Radio Operations Steve Hunter joins Zoellner as Pres./GM. Prior to his six years with Griffin, Hunter spent almost 22 as Dir./Operations at CMG/Tulsa (CAT 9/27/22). Reach him here. The sale, which also includes News-Talk KRMG-AM-FM, AC KRAV and Classic Rock KJSR, is expected to close early in Q3.
