Allen To Columbia: As tipped last week, Capitol VP/Promotion Shane Allen will join Columbia as SVP/Promotion Tuesday (5/31). He succeeds Norbert Nix, who exited in February amidst Sony's promotion restructuring (Breaking News 2/24). The move reunites him with Sony EVP/Promotion & Artist Development Steve Hodges, with whom he worked at both Capitol and UMGN. Allen joined Capitol in 2007 as VP/Radio Strategies & Field Marketing. He left briefly to join Red Light Management at the begining of 2009, returning in August of that year as VP/Promotion. When the label merged with UMG/Nashville in 2012, he held that title for all four of UMGN's imprints – EMI Nashville, MCA, Mercury and Capitol. He moved back to Capitol in 2014 (CAT 11/13/14). Bobby Young has succeeded him in that position (Breaking News 5/20).
