austin52224.jpg PS, This Is Austin: Audacy Classic Hip-Hop KKMJ-HD3 & K240EL/Austin flipped to a mix of Classic and Texas/Red Dirt Country at noon today (5/24) as "Austin's 95.9 Texas Country," with George Strait's "Blue Clear Sky" as its first song. "This station will offer the perfect blend of genre classics and the music shaping the Country music industry today," says Reg. Pres. Doug Abernathy. Details on staff are forthcoming. The move comes in the wake of the sale and impending change of similarly formatted Genuine Austin Radio KOKE to a Spanish language broadcaster (CAT 4/19). KOKE has scored as high as a 2.3 share in the past year, but ceased subscribing to Nielsen at the end of 2023. KKMJ-HD3 & K240EL averaged a 0.9 share over the past year. Stream here.
