WCYQ's Patterson Leaves: Summit WCYQ/Knoxville afternoon co-host Carina Patterson has resigned her post and departed after more than a decade; MD/afternoon host Brian “Opie Joe” Creason remains. “[Carina] wants to pursue some other things and will be greatly missed,” EVP Randy Chase tells Country Aircheck. Patterson adds, “I am thankful for the past 10 years.” She joined the cluster in Jan. 2012 as a Sales Asst. before staring on-air in 2014. She was named morning co-host alongside Opie Joe in 2018 (CAT 3/19/18) before the duo segued to afternoons amid a station rebranding the following year (CAT 9/20/19). Patterson also handled Coord./Promotions and Dir./Promotions duties during her tenure. No word on plans for a successor. Reach Patterson here
