The Show Must Go On(line):
The RAB and NAB have cancelled the 2020 Radio Show convention, originally set for September 13-16 in Nashville. The in-person gathering will be replaced with an online virtual event, similar to that of the NAB Show Express that replaced May’s 2020 NAB Show (CAT 3/20). RAB Pres./CEO Erica Farber and NAB Pres./CEO Gordon Smith issued a joint statement saying in part, “Just as you put your listeners’ interest first, your wellbeing is our top priority. With that in mind and considering the circumstances of the ongoing pandemic, we have decided not to move forward [but] will produce a digital event incorporating the best of what the Radio Show has to offer.” The 2021 Radio Show is set for September 21-24 in New Orleans, and the event will return to Nashville in 2022 with an October 5-7 slot.
