Emmis Sells Indy:
Emmis has agreed to sell its five-station Indianapolis cluster, which includes Country WLHK, to Urban One pending FCC approval. "When Emmis launched our first station, WENS [now WLHK], in 1981, I never could have envisioned the journey we would go on," says Emmis Founder/Chairman Jeff Smulyan. "Indianapolis is my hometown, and I’m so proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish." Emmis will continue to operate the Indianapolis cluster until the transaction closes. Terms were not disclosed.
