No Fakes Act Clears Committee
Fake Book: The bipartisan No Fakes Act, which seeks a federal intellectual property right to protect against AI voice cloning and deepfakes, cleared the Senate Judiciary Committee today (6/18). "We are encouraged by today’s passage in the Senate Judiciary Committee and look forward to the bill’s passage into law later this year," says RIAA Chairman/CEO Mitch Glazier. It's TBA if/when the legislation will make it to the Senate floor.
