Former Verstandig WAYZ/Hagerstown, MD midday personality Tori Anderson (a.k.a. Vicki Marie Shaw-Anderson) passed away Sunday (6/19) after a long battle with Scleroderma. She was 63. Anderson spent 17 years with WAYZ prior to retiring in 2013 due to her health (CAT 12/4/13). During her time with the station, Anderson held multiple roles, including on-air personality, MD and PD. Current WAYZ PD/midday host Dan "Tiny" Michaels – who worked with Anderson during her tenure at the station – paid tribute to her during today’s show and shared via Facebook, “[Tori] had prepared me for when she left the station; I was not prepared for when she left this world.” A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday (6/23) from 5-8pm ET at Grove Funeral Home (141 West Main Street, Hancock, MD 21750). Funeral services are set for the following day (6/24) at 11am ET at Mount Olivet Presbyterian Church (14253 Exline Road, Hancock, MD 21750). Complete obituary here.
