WKKO's Smithers Departs:
Cumulus WKKO/Toledo morning co-host Cliff Smithers has departed for an opportunity outside of radio. Lyn Casye remains in place. "I'm not retiring, I'm just stepping away from radio," Smithers tells WTOL-TV. "I look forward to the next adventure in life with Toledo Door and Window." Smithers spent most of his career in Toledo, starting at WKKO in 1989. He spent 12 years in afternoons before going to mornings at Christian AC WPOS and Cumulus sister Classic Hits WRQN. Smithers and Casye moved their morning show from WRQN to WKKO in 2018 (CAT 12/7/18). No word on plans for his replacement; reach him here.
