iHeart Layoffs: Several Country pros have been affected by an ongoing round of layoffs at iHeartMedia. These include:

  • Kentucky Area VP/Programming Nathan Nelson, who had been with iHeart for 16 years in a variety of roles including PD for WAMZ/Louisville & WBUL/Lexington since April (CAT 4/29); reach him here.
  • KNIX/Phoenix MD/midday personality Lois "Double-L" Lewis, who transferred from the APD/MD job at sister KWNR/Las Vegas in 2017 (CAT 6/15/17); reach her here.
  • WDXB/Birmingham & WDRM/Huntsville, AL morning host Spencer Graves, whose prior stops include WUBL/Atlanta; reach him here.
  • Springfield, MO VP/Programming and KSWF midday host Clint Gerlek (on-air as Clint Girlie), who had been with iHeart since 2007 and worked several dayparts at KSWF.
  • iHeart/Arkansas afternooner Bo Dalton, whose stations included KKIX/Fayetteville, KSSN/Little Rock & KMAG/Fort Smith.

The restructuring was explained to staff today in an email from Chief Programming Officer & National Programming Group Pres. Tom Poleman and Multiplatform Group CEO Ann Marie Licata touting "our dedication to creating new opportunities for our top personalities" and new tech that allows the company to "deepen our relationships with the listeners and communities who depend on us." The memo goes on to say, "We also recognize that some colleagues and existing positions will be impacted ... and do not take this step lightly." The memo also pledges support to outgoing employees.
