Chronicle: Veteran programmer
Jay Phillips passed away June 29. He was 78. Born James Phillip Bradshaw, his Country career began at WJQS-AM/Jackson, MS in 1979, followed by stints as MD at WMC-AM/Memphis, WMAQ-AM/Chicago and WSM-AM/Nashville. He started a seven-year run as PD at KXXY/Oklahoma City in 1987, which was followed by programming postions at KFMS/Las Vegas, KLUR/Wichita Falls, KTTS/Springfield, MO and WYGY/Cincinnati. Phillips was OM for the Cumulus/Fayetteville, AR cluster for six years before retiring in 2015. He also served as a consultant with McVay Media. No word on services.
