Rule On: First round
CMA Awards voting opens July 8 and runs though July 17. Among the changes this year, in the Song of the Year category, the words "country singles chart" were removed from the criteria, meaning that being on the charts is no longer a requirement for consideration. In the Music Video of the Year category, updated criteria clarifies that the video must feature an "entire singular performance of not more than one song or medley," allows for music videos to be released through any platform, and suggests that voters should consider the "overall impact and reach" of the music video when casting their vote.
