Night Moves Simmons Media's KEGA/Salt Lake City OM/PD/afternoon host Cody Alan has been tapped to helm the new CMT Radio Network and Westwood One syndicated night show CMT Radio Live with Cody Alan. The show will air live from Nashville weeknights from 7pm-12am EST beginning in January on Country stations in more than 50 markets including more than 40 Cumulus stations. "Bringing one of the country industry's preeminent brands, CMT, to the daypart is going to change the competitive landscape in every market," says Cumulus COO John Dickey.
The move reunites Alan with former KPLX (The Wolf)/Dallas PD Brian Philips, now CMT's EVP/GM. "We have big plans to deliver an entertaining, dynamic and innovative show to the country audience every night," Alan says. He will relocate to Nashville, but will continue to work with KEGA as a programming consultant. No decision has been made about the open afternoon slot as yet.
