Spirit Music Group has acquired Nashville-based independent music publisher, production and artist management company Cal IV Entertainment, which marks the launch of Spirit Music Nashville. The company will be located in the Cal IV Nashville offices. Cal IV head Daniel Hill is President and Billy Lynn is VP/Creative; existing Cal IV staffers will remain with the company. Hill will report to Spirit Chairman David Renzer, formerly head of Universal Music Publishing Group. Spirit's writers include Eric Paslay, Jim Collins and Rose Falcon. The company's catalog includes "Breathe" (Faith Hill), "Stupid Boy" (Keith Urban) and "Big Green Tractor" (Jason Aldean). Along with the publishing company, Spirit assumes ownership of Cal IV’s subsidiary Fore Artists, an artist management company overseen by Dan Harrell.
