Connoisseur Sells KBAY/San Jose Signal; Retains Format
Connoisseur is selling its 94.5 frequency in San Jose, the current home of Country KBAY, to Christian broadcaster K-Love, Inc. for $2 million. While specific plans for the format are not clear, Connoisseur says it will retain the station's "call letters and intellectual property." KBAY simulcasts on 92.1 (KKDV/Walnut Creek, CA). Connoisseur also owns Hot AC KEZR in the market. The sale is expected to close in early fall.
"We were approached about selling our frequency to K-Love, Inc. who want to expand their Christian offerings in the San Jose market with the addition of the 94.5 FM frequency," says Connoisseur Founder/CEO Jeff Warshaw. "We found a way to do that but retain our KBAY-FM Country format. Stay tuned!”
