Benefit News: George Strait and his Vaqueros del Mar partner, Tom Cusick, are organizing a benefit dinner and concert, Strait To The Heart, to raise money for Hill Country flood victims July 27 in Boerne, TX. In addition to the cluster's flood relief drive (CAT 7/7), Cox KCYY/San Antonio PD Christi Brooks put together a personal Amazon wish list for donation items, which she sent out to her contacts. "In the picture is not even half of what showed up and they are still showing up," Brooks tells Country Aircheck. "This ... is going to make its way up to the Hill Country on Sunday to give those displaced by the floods some of the everyday things you take for granted. Toothbrushes, soap, shampoo etc.  We will also be providing for the volunteers and first responders, many of whom have not slept and are working around the clock.
