Mighty Oakes: SummitMedia KTTS/Springfield, MO OM and KTTS and Classic Rock KRVI PD Tom Oakes plans to retire Dec. 31, and relocate to the Upper Midwest to be closer to family. The radio veteran of nearly 50 years joined then-Scripps as a utility player in 2018, temporarily filling programming vacancies in Springfield, two stints in Knoxville, Omaha and then back to Springfield in 2019 (CAT 10/14/19). Oakes previously spent more than 12 years as OM at Ohana KXLW/Anchorage, AK before departing in 2018 (CAT 5/11/18). Reach him here until the end of the year, and here after that. No word yet on plans for the Springfield position.
