Passing The Hat: Blue Hat Records, the label founded by Charlie Daniels and his longtime manager, David Corlew, has restuctured five years after Daniels' death. Corlew, who served as label Pres., has departed. For the time being, Daniels' widow, Hazel Daniels, is overseeing operations, which are being handled day-to-day by his son, Charlie Daniels Jr., and longtime CDB Music publishing administrator Randy Owen. Blue Hat continues its relationship with Bob Frank Distribution, with Frank remaining as a label partner. Says Corlew, "I believe we accomplished everything we wanted to do in our 30-plus years as partners. I wish the Daniels family much success as they move forward with a strong catalog."
