Stoney Richards Leaves Radio:
CBS Radio WDSY/Pittsburgh APD/MD/afternoon personality Stoney Richards is leaving full-time radio after 46 years to focus on acting. "I love being on the radio but I love acting and there are opportunities I no longer want to miss out on," he says. He won't be out completely, though, as he'll continue his Live From The Centre weekend talk show on sister News KDKA-AM, and will be a recurring guest host on 'DSY. "I’m also planning to tour with Garth Brooks but we can’t decide on those pesky dates," he says.
"Stoney has been a great programming partner and strong brand ambassador for Y108 during his nearly 18 years with the station and 21 years with our organization," says OM/PD Mark Anderson in a memo to staff. "He has earned a tremendous amount of admiration and respect from listeners, the country music recording industry, and his peers in radio." Richards' last day will be Sept. 10. Reach him here. Anderson has begun the search for his replacement. Apply here by searching 19313BR.
