KTHT/Houston To EMF: Cox Classic Country KTHT/Houston has been sold to religious broadcaster Educational Media Foundation (EMF) for $3.1 million. The station is being spun off as part of Urban One's pending purchase of the Cox/Houston cluster (CAT 4/11), which necessitated the sale of two signals to comply with FCC market limits. KTHT is the latest PPM market Country station to be purchased by EMF, following KRTY/San Jose last year (CAT 3/23/22) and the former frequency of WLFP/Memphis earlier this year (CAT 4/7). KTHT's 20-year old Classic Country format is expected to be replaced by EMF's national Christian AC "K-Love" format upon closing. See the FCC filing here.
