Sandy Posey passed away July 20 following complications from dementia. She was 80. Posey was born in Jasper, AL and grew up in West Memphis, AR. She worked as a backing singer before signing her own record deal, and had three Top 20 pop hits in the mid 1960s before moving to country in 1971. Her single "Bring Him Safely Home To Me" reached the Top 10 on the
Cashbox country chart in January 1972. She retired from performing in the 1980s. Plans for a celebration of life are pending.
