Chronicle: Cumulus KRST/Albuquerque afternoon host Juan Velasco passed away July 27. He was 60. Born in Alamagordo, NM, Velasco started in radio in 1982 and had been with KRST in various capacities since 1994. He was named Personality of the Year by the New Mexico Broadcasters Association in 2021. No word on services.
Longtime Nashville restauranteur Randy Rayburn passed away July 25. He was 74. Rayburn moved to Nashville in 1971 and became Opryland Hotel Mgr./Beverage & Restaurant in the early '80s. Rayburn opened 13 restaurants in his career, starting with Sunset Grill in 1990, and including current operations Midtown CafeĢ in 1997 and Cabana in 2005. No word on services.
