Chronicle:
Former Beasley VP/Corporate Sales Bob McCurdy passed away yesterday (7/29) following a prolonged battle with cancer. He was 68. McCurdy's 40-plus years in the industry included time with Upping The Volume, Katz and local radio sales and management positions in Richmond, Indianapolis, Chicago, Minneapolis and New York. He announced his retirement from Beasley in April (CAT 4/10). “Bob was a trusted confidant, a valued advisor and an incredible ambassador on behalf of the Beasley Media Group family and the radio industry,” says CEO Caroline Beasley. “His love and passion for the business could be seen and heard in everything he did within our company as well as the industry.” McCurdy, who was also a 6’ 7” NCAA basketball star at the University of Richmond in the ‘70s, was saluted in the Richmond Times-Dispatch here.
