Urge To Merge: Journal Communications will merge with the E.W. Scripps Company. As part of the agreement, each company will spin off its newspaper properties into Journal Media Group and its TV and radio properties into a Cincinnati-based entity under the Scripps name. Country radio stations affected include WCYQ/Knoxville, KTTS/Springfield, MO, KVOO & Classic Country KXBL/Tulsa and KFDI & Classic Country KFTI/Wichita. The deal is expected to close in 2015.
