CC Adds Pittsburgh Country:
Clear Channel News/Talk WPGB/Pittsburgh flipped to Country moments ago as Big 104.7 touting "Pittsburgh's New Hit Country." The station launched with Florida Georgia Line's "This Is How We Roll" featuring Luke Bryan and will run 10,000 songs in a row commercial-free, with The Bobby Bones Show joining the lineup in the fall. The News/Talk format has moved to WJAS-AM.
"It's a great day for Pittsburgh country music fans as we launch Big 104.7, a fresh new take on country music," says CC/Pittsburgh VPP David Edgar. "This station will give our listeners a front-row seat to country's biggest artists and concerts. Listeners will also enjoy waking up with The Bobby Bones Show and his unique and entertaining insight on country music. No one is closer to the heart of Nashville than Bobby Bones."
WPGB will compete with CBS Radio's WDSY and Keymarket's WOGI-WOGG-WOGH Froggy stations. As News/Talk, the station earned a 2.4 share with 164,600 cume in Nielsen Audio's July PPMs; WDSY earned a 7.3/529,200. The Froggy stations do not subscribe. Clear Channel has recently signed on Country stations in Boston and Miami.
