Bits & Pieces: Mountain Stage radio show host and artist Kathy Mattea was invited to join the Grand Ole Opry cast during an Aug. 9 performance. Opry member and fellow West Virginian Charlie McCoy made the invitation; watch here. Mattea will be inducted Oct. 11.

Henry Paul of BlackHawk, The Outlaws and The Henry Paul Band will release a memoir about his life and 50-year career, The Last Outlaw, Sept. 9 via Mirror Lake PublishingBilly Bob Thornton wrote the foreword.

Drake White will host and perfom at his second annual Benefit For The Brain Nov. 17 at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. Proceeds support mental wellness and brain health charities. Tickets (available 8/15) here.

Tracy Lawrence will celebrate the 20th year of his Mission:Possible turkey fry and concert Nov. 25, benefitting Nashville Rescue Mission, among other organizations. Audacy KFRG/Riverside morning hosts Kelli Green and Anthony Donatelli raised more than $25,000 in their "Dog Days of Summer" campaign last week to help purchase and train two new police K9s for the Fontana Police Department.
