Miles Per Allen:
As reported earlier via Twitter and Facebook, Clear Channel's WSIX/Nashville APD/afternoon host Anthony "Antman" Allen will join the company's KNIX/Phoenix as APD/MD/afternoon host Aug. 19. He replaces Kevin Mannion as APD/MD and Billy Michaels as afternoon host; both have exited and can be reached here and here, respectively. "I've watched the Country format battle in Phoenix from the outside looking in," Allen says. "Now, after all the years of being a spectator, it's an honor to be called in to play! I'm looking forward to being a part of the winning team in Phoenix." Allen joined WSIX in late 2011 (CAT 12/7/11). His prior stops include KTST/Oklahoma City and KZSN/Wichita. Reach him here.
Meanwhile, WSIX OM/PD Michael Bryan is searching for Allen's replacement. "This is really bittersweet," says Bryan. "Ant has been my partner in crime as we've completely rebuilt The Big 98 over the past 18 months. I really hate to lose him, but am also excited about the future. We're looking for the very best air talent and APD/MD available in the format. This really is one of the best jobs in Country radio and it's wide open." Airchecks and resumes here. Allen will voice-track 'SIX afternoons until a replacement is found.
