WLHK/Indianapolis Launches 'Help In The Heartland'
Helping Hoosiers: As deadly flooding continues in central Indiana, claiming the lives of at least seven people, Radio One WLHK/Indianapolis has teamed with TV partners WXIN (Fox59) and WTTV (CBS4) to launch Help in the Heartland. WLHK PD Sean Copeland says, "We have a collective fundraising goal of $500,000 for local Red Cross efforts. On the 26th, we will do a 12-hour day of giving with broadcasts from multiple locations." Copeland also reports that all of his team members are safe, with none residing in the flood zone. Crosstown Cumulus WFMS has a list of resources linked on its home page where those affected by the floods can find resources and help.
