Chronicle: Veteran broadcaster John "Jay" Smith passed away Aug. 14. He was 81. Smith spent his entire 40 year career in Arkansas, including more than a decade in middays on KSSN/Little Rock. Veteran record promoter Keith Greer passed Aug. 19. He was 73. Greer spent time on air and in programming at Top 40 stations in Salt Lake City, Fort Wayne, IN and Shreveport, LA before joining Curb as Mgr./Southwest Promotion in 1991. He was with the label and its Curb/Asylum spinoff for a dozen years, followed by time in a similar role at Audium before retiring from the industry. Services are pending.
