
Hall-In Notes: The National Radio Hall of Fame (NRHoF) will induct two figures with Country connections in its Class of 2024 Legends category.
Country Radio Hall of Famer Rusty Walker began his career in 1968, and his programming résumé included WQYK, WQIK, WZZK and KFKF. In 1984, he launched his consultancy, which in time advised more than 500 stations. Walker passed in 2012 (Chronicle 5/21/12), the same year he was inducted into the Country Radio Hall of Fame.
Country Radio Hall of Famer Charlie Douglas hosted the overnight show "Road Gang" on WWL-AM/New Orleans for 13 years starting in 1971. He also spent time at WNOE/New Orleans and WSM-AM/Nashville and was inducted into the Country Radio Hall of Fame in 1994. Douglas passed in 2011.
This year's NRHoF class will also induct Premiere's Crook & Chase and Guiness World Record Holder and KVST/Conroe, TX host Mary McCoy. The event will be held Sept. 19 at the Omni Hotel Nashville. Ticket information here.
