
Chronicle: Industry veteran Ken Biddy passed away Aug. 21 following a long battle with cancer. He was 84. Biddy was born in Georgia and moved to Nashville in 1983, forming Copperfield Music Group, which eventually expanded to artist management, publishing and production. In 1992, Biddy married then-MCA VP Shelia Shipley. A gathering of family and friends will be held Aug. 25 from 3pm to 6pm, and Aug. 26 from 12:30pm to 2:30pm at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home (660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN) followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 3pm. Canadian broadcaster has Tom Tompkins passed away. Born in Toronto, Tompkins spent time at CJAX/Edmonton, CFGM-AM/Toronto and CHAM-AM/Hamilton. He was named Person of the Year three times by the Canadian Country Music Association, of which he served two terms as president. He was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame in 2010. No word on services.
