Heartbreak Express: Country radio reacted to the passing of Dolly Parton (8/25) with tributes and airtime for mourning listeners. Among them:

• WIVK/Knoxville, the first station to ever play her music in 1956, temporarily re-branded as "107.7 Dolly," and went wall-to-wall with her music, in addition to producing a custom tribute using "My Tennessee Mountain Home" interspersed with clips of Parton talking about growing up in East Tennessee; listen here.
• WSM-FM/Nashville went wall-to-wall Parton yesterday and took calls from bereaved listeners during Tyler Reese's afternoon show. VP/Country and WKDF afternooner Travis Daily tells Country Aircheck, "My audience was [also] calling [with] amazing stories about things she did that we never knew about and that she never looked to get credit for. It was really a sad day, but a beautiful thing [seeing] the effect she will have on all of us forever."
• Audacy's Katie Neal included a tribute in her Superstar Power Hour, and VP/Format Captain Tim Roberts reports "most markets did all-Dolly hours in [afternoon] drive immediately following Katie's show. We all added social to our pages. Our production teams created special imaging, tribute pieces and [more]."
• KPNW/Seattle's Scott Mahalick shared this tribute the station is airing hourly into an iconic Parton song.
• Audacy's Holly Hutton hosted a Parton-themed Top 7 Hit Countdown at 7pm on the Rob & Holly Show. Scotty Kay (heard on WUSN/Chicago, KMNB/Minneapolis and KSON/San Diego) produced this hour-long tribute. WUSY/Chattanooga's Melissa "Mo" Wagner and Greg "StyckMan" Owens "aired calls with great Dolly stories," reports SVP/Programming Justin Cole.
• SiriusXM launched a Parton tribute channel, available on Ch.105 and the SXM app. Additional tribute programming will air across other channels in the coming days, including The Highway, Y2Kountry, Willie’s Roadhouse, Outlaw Country and Bluegrass Junction.

• The Grand Ole Opry will dedicate its Aug. 29 show to Opry member Parton. Last night's (8/25) show also included tributes.
• A two-hour tribute will air Sunday (8/30) on the Heather Froglear-hosted national show 90's Country. The Audacy app also has a produced tribute to Parton now running 24/7 here.
• Radio personalities also became go-to sources yesterday for television news outlets reporting on the Parton news. Among the many interviewed nationwide were Audacy's Neal (CNN), Roberts, Froglear, WUSN & KMNB's Marci Braun, WKIS/Miami's Dina B and Tim Conlon, and WPAW/Greensboro, NC's Annie Camp. Others offering TV commentary were KFKF/Kansas City's Dale Carter (KHSB) and Jim Daniels (KCTV), and KJUG/Visalia.
