Kennedy To WDAF: Former Steel City/Kansas City VP/Programming & Operations and KBEQ PD Mike Kennedy is joining crosstown Entercom as OM/PD for Country WDAF & Hot AC KZPT. He succeeds Wes Poe, who departed in July (CAT 7/24). Kennedy retired in 2016 after 40 years in radio and more than 25 years with KBEQ (CAT 9/28/16), joining in 1991 and leading the station's flip to Country from Top 40 two years later. He is a 2015  Country Radio Hall of Fame inductee (CAT 2/25/15). "It's fantastic to welcome a seasoned, celebrated and successful programmer like Mike Kennedy to the Entercom/Kansas City team," says Regional Pres./MM Dave Alpert. Adds Kennedy, "[WDAF & KZPT] deliver exceptional content to their listeners on a daily basis, and I look forward to joining the team. I'm especially excited to continue my career in my hometown."
