Special Ol' Cajun: Cumulus KXKC/Lafayette, LA has shifted to a gold-based playlist and is now positioned as "Your Home For '90s Country." Mediabase analysis shows the station has not played any currents in rotation since Saturday (9/3), and 70% of the playlist is now comprised of '90s gold with the remainder coming from the '80s and 2000s. Concurrently, Westwood One's Kincaid & Dallas in mornings and Nights With Elaina have been removed from the station lineup. Afternoon host Danita Maldonado is now handling mornings, and Troy Leger moves into afternoons from weekend duties. KXKC originally flipped to Country in August 1992 and led the market for four years in the '90s. In the Spring 2022 Nielsen survey, KXKC was 9th among rated stations with a 3.2 share; Townsquare KMDL led the market with a 10.0 share, while two other Classic Country outlets, Delta KOGM and Broadcast Partners KPCZ, were 12th (2.1) and 13th (1.6), respectively (CAT 7/20).
