Chronicle: Songwriter Troy Jones died Friday (9/11) at the age of 64. Fellow songwriter and friend Bobby Braddock posted the news on Facebook, saying "My heart goes out to his family as they mourn the loss of this humble but greatly talented man. I’ll smile, a little sadly, every time now that I see Troy’s well-known words printed on a ball cap or a bumper sticker. Rest in peace, my friend." Jones' songs were recorded by artists including Randy Travis, Brad Paisley, Trace Adkins, Billy Currington and Kenny Chesney, who cut his "Like Me" in 2005 and "Shiftwork" in 2007. "Goodbye to Troy Jones," Chesney posted. "A great person, great friend and a special creative soul. Carry on pal and teach heaven some shift work! 7 to 3, 3 to 11, 11 to 7." Arrangements are pending.
