Recording Industry Association of America (
RIAA) reports U.S. music revenue grew 9.3% in the first half of 2023 for a record-high total estimated retail value of $8.4 billion. Streaming accounted for 84% of revenue at $7.0b. Physical sales totalled $632m (up 1%), their highest level since the first half of 2013. Vinyl sales grew 17% to $1.2b and accounted for 72% of physical sales.
