Hughes' Air Craft: As reported earlier via Twitter and Facebook, Cumulus' WKDF/Nashville afternoon personality Dennis "Newman" Hughes has been named APD/night host at Clear Channel's WMZQ/Washington. He fills the vacancy left by Kat Jackson, who exited evenings at 'MZQ last month; the APD position is newly created. Hughes joined 'KDF Sept. 1 (CAT 8/19), and the move reunites him with Clear Channel, with whom he worked from 2006-2009 as MD/middayer for WSIX/Nashville. The 25-year radio vet is a Virginia native with prior stops in Richmond, Atlanta and Chattanooga, TN. Newman starts at 'MZQ Oct. 3. Congratulate him here
