The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) released its mid-year-end statistics, reporting 9% growth in music revenue in the U.S. in the first half of 2022 for a total estimated retail value of $7.7 billion. Streaming accounted for 84% of revenue. Total streaming revenue was $6.5b for the half year, with paid subscriptions making up the largest growth driver. Physical sales totalled $781 million, as vinyl sales grew 22% to $570 million and accounted for 73% of physical revenues, up from 68%. Full report here.
