Dolly Parton Day: Cities, including Nashville and New Orleans, the state of California and radio stations across the country are celebrating Dolly Parton Day (9/25) with live music, parades, book drives and more:

• Airplay on Parton titles from midnight to 3p CT was up to 379 total spins, compared to just three spins for the same period last Friday (9/18). 
• Stations including WUSN/Chicago and KSON/San Diego are giving away trips to Parton's Songteller Hotel in Nashville.
• KFKF & KBEQ/Kansas City (pictured) collected thousands of books for Lead to Read KC. 
• WXTU/Philadelphia, which shares its frequency with the date, is playing Parton's songs, sharing stories and quotes, and encouraging listeners to "celebrate in true Dolly fashion: with a little more kindness, a little more sparkle and a whole lot of country music." (CAT 9/23)
• WSM-AM/Nashville is sharing listener stories about what Parton meant to them on air. 
• WGH/Norfolk staffers (pictured) wore pink to celebrate Parton.
