Griffin's Hunter To Depart:
Griffin/Tulsa Dir./Radio Operations Steve Hunter is leaving Friday (9/30) after more than six years. He joined the then-Scripps cluster that includes Country KVOO & Classic Country KXBL in 2016 (CAT 5/6/16) after nearly 22 years at crosstown Cox. “I have really enjoyed my time at Griffin and can’t say enough good things about the company or the people,” Hunter tells Country Aircheck. “We assembled a great team that will continue to do great things. I’m going to take some time to see what is next.” In an internal memo, Griffin Communications VP/Content Todd Spessard tells staffers, “I want to sincerely thank Steve for everything he has done for the radio group and our company and for the professionalism he has displayed through a tough process. In the interim, the radio program directors will handle all decisions regarding their respective stations and report directly to me.” Reach Spessard here and Hunter here.
