Chronicle: Longtime country music journalist Neil Haislop died Sept. 7 in Rancho Cucamonga, CA at the age of 79. He was a key contributor to the ABC Watermark syndicated American Country Countdown from 1978-1995, later working at United Stations Radio Networks and operating his own Los Angeles-based Country Forever Productions. He also authored the book Billboard Hitmakers: Giants of Country Music. Survivors include his wife, Patricia, son Donald Morrison and daughter Keely. Full obituary here.
