Chronicle: Schiltz, Parkin
Chronicle: Industry veteran "Big Al" Schiltz died Sept. 30 at the age of 70 following a cancer battle. Retired since 2022, Schiltz previously was a partner in artist management firm The Consortium, as well as his own As Is Management, where his clients included Billy Ray Cyrus and Tammy Cochran. A U.S. Navy veteran who went on to spend more than four decades in the music industry, Schiltz's roles included owner of Nashville-based Production Services Group and OM for ElectroTech Productions. A memorial service is being planned for later this year.
Darius Rucker/Hootie & the Blowfish’s long-time Production Mgr., Jason “Devil Boy” Parkin, passed away earlier this week. "He was more than our production manager, he was our brother," shared Rucker. "Our prayers are with his family — thank you for loaning him to us all these years." Memorial service details will be announced at a later date.
