Big D & Bubba To WKDF Mornings:
Silverfish Media nationally syndicated Big D & Bubba has been added to Cumulus WKDF/Nashville for mornings beginning Monday (10/18). Derek “Big D” Haskins, Sean “Bubba” Powell, Silverfish Pres./ show producer Patrick Thomas and Silverfish Dir./Programming Jessica “Carsen” Humphreville succeed Paul Koffy and Jasmine Sadry’s Morning Koffy, which had been heard on WKDF and via Westwood One national syndication since last May (CAT 5/4/20). WW1 unveiled newly syndicated Kincaid & Dallas earlier this month (CAT 10/4).
“We are lucky that talent this good is right here in our backyard,” says Cumulus VP/Country Formats & Nashville OM Charlie Cook. “We’ve heard Big D & Bubba for years and understand how hard they’ll work for WKDF. They are funny, relevant and artists love them.” Adds VP/MM Allison Warren, “They have consistently entertained audiences and bring an unparalleled passion to every show their team hosts. This crew are born storytellers, their laughter is contagious and they have a gift for relating to people, whether artists or listeners.”
The move marks a return to the Nashville airwaves for Big D & Bubba; the show was previously heard on crosstown then-Clear Channel WSIX/Nashville in afternoons from 2003-2011 (CAT 11/16/11) and was syndicated for mornings by Premiere for eight years prior to the duo’s launch of their own Silverfish (CAT 9/10/13). Big D & Bubba has been available in morning syndication since 1999 (CAW 12/9/19) and currently airs in more than 95 markets nationwide. Silverfish studios are based in Nashville.
