Chronicle: James Holley
Chronicle: Longtime air personality James Holley died Oct. 5 at his home in Clovis, CA at the age of 76. Holley's career began in the mid-1970s in his home town at KMAK/Fresno. Other stops included KSON/San Diego, and Fresno stations KFRE and KCML. After leaving radio for a career in insurance, he returned in 2015 at KTKP/Topeka (CAT 3/4/16). The son of Texas Playboys fiddle player Joe Holley, James was a performing musician in the Fresno area, including time with the K-Free Haywire Band, which he co-founded while at KFRE. A celebration of life is planned for Oct. 27 at noon at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Clovis, CA. Flowers can be sent to 6251 E Pontiac Way, Fresno, CA 93727.
