Captain, Obviously:
Country Aircheck Assoc. Radio Editor and part-time Slacker Radio host Jess Wright will segue to Slacker full time Nov. 1 as Country Format Captain. Wright joined both Country Aircheck and Slacker in 2013, following radio stops that include Memphis, Wilkes-Barre, Wichita and Frederick, MD. "I've learned so much in my three years with Country Aircheck, and I'm grateful to have had this experience," says Wright. "Country music is my love, and I'm looking forward to getting even more deeply involved in promoting the music and the artists that make it great." She will continue to be based in Nashville. "Country music has become increasingly important to Slacker, and we are very excited to have someone of Jess' caliber join our team," says VP/Programming Kevin Stapleford. "She knows the music, she knows the artists, and she knows the best places to eat in Nashville are definitely not on Broadway." Wright's last day with Country Aircheck is Friday (10/28). There's no word on plans for her position. Reach her here.
